John Howard Wins Again.

According to the Islamic Human Rights Commission, the Islamophobe of the Year Competition is a 'spoof'.

As plenty of infidels have voted in the polls this year, it certainly can't be taken seriously.

However, as a 'spoof', or 'satire', or 'mockery', it falls flat.

The irony meter broke a few years ago, and these people never got around to fixing it.

My irony meter, on the other hand, is in fine form:

Dear Sirs,

As there are non-mulsims voting in your poll, some of whom disagree with your list of islamophobes, how representative of your constituency will the final results be?

If, for instance, it took my fancy to vote for John Howard or George W Bush, would that not damage the truthfulness of the responses?

Why would not someone like Sheikh Al Hilali from Australia with his recent comments likening women to uncovered meat not be on your list? His words have sown dissension between the communities of muslims and others in Australia. Surely, that would not be a favourable outcome for you?

I would prefer it if everyone in our communities could work together to stamp out islamophobia as well as that appalling 'islamofascism'.

Thank you for your time,

Regards,

Dear Sir,

Thank you for your query. This vote is open to all peoples, and not restricted to Muslims.

If you wish to nominate someone who is not on the list, please scroll to the bottom of the web page and click on the appropriate link. However I believe the window for new nominations is coming to an end.

Thank You

Eine Kleine Nacht Musik Not.

Since I've just discovered how to get video on my blog, I'll probably go a bit sick with it over the next couple of days.

In the meantime, I was sent this one by a mate, and thought you all might enjoy a musical interlude.

My Fave New Video. Tacky, Tacky, Tacky!

The Man Of Steel To Save The World Again! YAY!!

There is currently yet another of those meaningless online petitions going around. This one wants John Howard to stop the genocide in Darfur.

Now I don't know about anybody else, but since when has the Eeeevil Little Johnny HoWARd been capable of stopping war? I thought that according to the moonbats he was one of the warmongers.

No doubt he is, except when the peaceniks want him to one. And then his is sitting back on his arse doing nothing. Well, maybe rubbing his hands in glee.

I've been looking over the comments at said petition, and my mind boggles.
sending the peacekeepers in is sending hope and that in todays world is priceless. It is not about power or the money but seeing them as individuals that have a right to hope for a healthy and safe life, don't we all want that.

This does not address the activities of the so-called peacekeepers up to the present day and their remarkable successrate at keeping the peace.

UN peacekeeping force remains the only hope to bring peace to this war-torn region. Although the UN Security Council has already authorized the force, they might never reach Darfur if the Sudanese government doesn't agree to let them in, therefore our government must increase the pressure on the Sudanese government and the UN NOW!

Hmmmm. Putting pressure on the Sudanese government. Yeah, that'll work. I can see it now... an aggressively hostile foreign government cowers down under the force of our bleeding hearts. *sigh*

And how about this one?
Stop this revolting action and provide hope

So many things I could say to this, but I'll let this idiocy stand on its own.

I suggest that everyone read this petition. Feel free to sign it if you wish.

I won't be, as the situation in Darfur has been ongoing for decades, and there is nothing our Prime Minister can actually do to change it. He can ensure that any Sudanese refugees taken in are looked after, which is a no brainer given our excellent social services, and he can talk to the Useless Nations, which is surely ongoing.

I would rather that the UN gets off their collective, corrupt arses and does something without civilised people having to plead for them to do their jobs.

I also notice that none of the comments I've read thus far have addressed the actual root causes of the genocide in Darfur - the destruction of the christian and animist peoples, by those of a different religion.

I wonder why that is?
/rhetorical question, no need to answer.

Abomination.

For those children murdered in the name of Islam, God be with you always, and grant Peace to your parents.

For those who would crucify a 14 year old in the name of Islam, God have mercy on you, because there are many who walk this earth who won't.

There are no words.

A Portrait Of My Atomic-Ninja-Attack-Gorilla Daughter.

Mucho apologies for the dearth of postings of late, but this job thing is something else! There are so many things I want to post on, but it's so hectic at the moment that I'm finding it very difficult to sort through everything.

As a little something to mollify those who still faithfully read my (not very) humble blog, I have finally decided to post a picture of Magilla.

As I don't have a copy of photoshop, and even if I did, I've no skill at applying hair to pictures, you'll just have to imagine that she has long brown hair.

On a slightly less serious note, last week I collected my offspring from daycare only to be told that she had punched Jay in the nose and there was blood everywhere.

Apparently Magilla was playing at Atomic Betty, which is one of her favourite cartoon characters, and Jay was the robot. OF course, I've never seen Atomic Betty beat the crap out of any robots, but Magilla also has a big thing for Jackie and loves to do the kungfu dragon stances and punching and so forth.

I have tried to teach her to make a proper fist, and I know that some of it sank in when she explained to me that you have to hit with a certain part of your hand or you'll hurt yourself.

Hehe. She's also now learned that you can hurt other people, too.

For now, though, she is not to play Atomic Betty vs the Robot, and next year when she hits 5 she'll definitely be taking up martial arts.

That way, she can punch and kick and jump and shout "HAH!" to her heart's delight and not inflict toooooo much damage.
